Placemaking or Making Place?

This project was delivered in two years, but the foundations of the project were
developed over eight years, built on a nested place-based model. The model
ensured that we were use the learning and expertise gained at a local level, to
inform our approach nationally, and visa versa:

Taking a place-based model approach meant that we were able to share our
learning extensively throughout, and magnify the impact we were having locally. But using this cross-sector approach to place-making (or making place) did highlight some stark differences in the way the age sector and cultural sector approach people and power in place. Explore this section for more information about these differences, and the opportunities it presents.
